May 3^rd - Clinic

The Para Athletics Clinic will be held on May 3rd from 9:00am – 4:00pm. The session (included with the meet registration for para athletes) will include a morning and afternoon training session for athletes, as well as a Try It event for brand new participants from 11:30am – 1:30pm.
All participants of the para athletics clinic will be provided with lunch.

HOW TO ENTER / REGISTER:

All athletes must register through Trackie by Tuesday, April 29^th @ 11:59pm. Late registration deadline is Wednesday, April 30^th at 11:59pm – no additional entries will be accepted after this deadline. No cash payment accepted. There are no entry standards for this event. Any registration inquiries after the deadline should be directed to Lisa Myers at paraathletics@cruisers-sports.com. Registration/entry forms must be completed ONLINE for each participant at: www.trackie.com/event/2025-CruisersClassic16488.

**Able-bodied runners are asked to register in the “Open” category.
**Able-bodied throwers are asked to register in the age category aligned with the implement weight they are throwing.

Try It

Our annual Para Athletics Try It event on the first weekend in May is back! This year's session will be held on May 3^rd from 11:30am - 1:30pm at the Toronto Track & Field Centre. This event is free, no experience is necessary, all ages are welcome, and all equipment will be provided. While we will prioritize individuals with a disability in trying the events first, friends and family members are more than welcome to join and try as well! The Try It sessions will be facilitated by knowledgeable event coaches and Cruisers athletes, including Paralympians!

Entry Fees

Cruisers Sports Athletes:
Meet entry fees are included as part of club membership. Please select "cheque" or “on-site” option to complete meet registration if you are a Cruisers Sports member.

All other athletes:
Cost is $25.00 flat fee per athlete (late entry is $50.00 flat fee). This fee includes access to the training sessions for para athletes as part of the Para Athletics Clinic on Saturday, May 3^rd.

CLASSIFICATION

A National Classification opportunity will be available for athletes with physical impairments that are vying for selection at the upcoming 2025 Canada Summer Games. Athletes looking to be classified must meet the Athletics Canada National Classification Guidelines.

Classification Registration: Early bird registration is open until April 11^th.
Late registration: (between April 11^th & April 18^th) will be subject to a $50 registration fee.

Final paperwork, as requested by AC’s Lead of Classification, will be required by April 18^th. Athletes must register for the Cruisers Classic competition on Sunday, May 4^th in an event corresponding to their classification. Athletes must be present and available at the Toronto Track and Field Centre all day on both Saturday May 3^rd and Sunday May 4^th, 2025. A limited number of spots will be available, and priority will be given to athletes looking to be selected for Canada Summer Games.

ON SITE REGISTRATION

Athletes who attend the para athletics clinic on Saturday, May 3^rd will be able to pick up their registration package during that session. Day of registration package pick up starts on site at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 4^th.

STADIUM WARM-UP / PRACTICE SESSIONS

Sunday, May 4^th at 8:30 am onwards

OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD SPECIFICATION

8-lane, 400m Olympic regulation track (synthetic rubberized material surface) with two 125m sprint and hurdle runways
Full complement of facilities for pole vault, high jump, triple and long jump, javelin, shot put, discus, hammer throw, weight throw, hurdles and steeple chase

Starting Blocks will be provided.
Throwing implements will be provided for para events only – all able-bodied athletes must bring their personal implements for this event. Personal implements must be weighed prior to competition. Weigh-in will be conducted at the event site at the check in desk. Please allow extra time for weigh-in prior to your event start time.
