Linda Beacham

Linda Beacham was first introduced to the Parasport world when she started attending the Blazers Wheelchair Sports Group in 1994. She very quickly became involved and started helping out. In 1996, Linda discovered Cruisers Sports through the sledge hockey program, where she initially attended as a spectator. It wasn't long before Linda started volunteering and became an avid supporter of all Cruisers athletes.

In 2007, Linda joined the Board of Directors as Secretary and remained in that position until 2011 when she accepted the position of President. She helped bring the Blazers Wheelchair Sports Group in to the Cruisers fold in 2008, which meant the inclusion of the multi-sports and wheelchair basketball program.

Linda continued to volunteer in all aspects of Cruisers Sports, always greeting new people with a welcoming smile and a listening ear. Her passion for fair play and equality for everyone was evident in everything she did. Linda truly loved life and wanted to make the world a better place for all of us. It is only fitting that Cruisers Sports annually hosts Beacham Summer Fun Day for children of all abilities to have fun in her memory.
