2009 Cruisers' Track, Field & Boccia Meet
/ Results /SATURDAY, JUNE 6, 2009 - YORK UNIVERSITY
Cruisers Sports hosted it’s first Track, Field and Boccia Meet on June 6th at York University. There were about 75 athletes from across Ontario, as far away as Windsor and Ottawa competing in track, field and boccia events, 23 of them, Cruisers members.
Among the day’s many highlights were Canadian record throws in javelin by Ryan Bennett, 12.39 metres in the F34 class, Robert Hughes, 15.63 metres in the F33 class. Ryan is a member of Cruisers Sport member from Brampton; Robert is a member of Sarnia Athletics S.W TFC.
Many of the athletes achieved personal best both in the field on the track and boccia court. Congratulations those who achieved qualifying standards for this year’s Ontario Parasport Summer Championships in Woodstock next month.
The Cruisers board of directors and organizing committee, would like to thank the staff at the Track and Field Club at York, The Ontario Cerebral Palsy Sports Association, Parasport Ontario, the officials, volunteers, sponsors, parents, athletes, coaches and everyone who had a role in making this day the success that it was. We couldn’t do it without you.
